PROJECT COST MANAGEMENT

Perencanaan biaya pelaksanaan proyek baik untuk proyek fisik maupun non-fisik merupakan hal yang dapat dianggap paling penting. Hal ini berkaitan dengan sukses atau tidaknya pelaksanaan proyek itu sendiri. Sebagai gambaran apabila perencanaan biaya dilakukan dengan baik dan juga diikuti oleh analisis yang komprehensif, setidaknya dapat mengurangi potensi terjadinya kekurangan ataupun kelebihan biaya. Kemampuan yang perlu dimiliki oleh setiap elemen didalam tim proyek khususnya berkaitan dengan perencanaan biaya diantaranya adalah kemampuan meramalkan biaya dimasa yang akan datang dengan sumber data harga-harga di masa lalu yang dianggap cukup representative, analisis seluruh aktivitas didalam proyek sekaligus kaitan antara masing-masing aktivitas serta kemampuan dalam hal manajemen resiko proyek.

  2. Create a baseline budget for management signature
  3. Identify management reserves needed to compensate for project risks

TRAINING OUTLINE

  1. Overview of Project Management

In this module the participants will learn an overall approach to managing projects. This will provide the context for developing and managing the project budget. Topics will cover:

  • Basic definitions
  • Common project management processes
  • Project phases and life cycles
  • Project deliverables
  • Roles and responsibilities
  1. Developing the project schedule

In this module we will create the overall project schedule and learn how the budget is tied to each individual project activity. Topics will cover:

  • Creating the work breakdown structure (WBS)
  • Defining the activities
  • Adding resources
  • Estimating activity durations
  • Developing the schedule
  1. Developing the Project Budget

Here the participants will learn how create both high-level budgets at the beginning of the project and the detailed budgets that are necessary for project control.

Topics will cover:

  • Top-level budgets
  • Detailed budgets
  • The S-Curve
  • Personnel costing
  • Materials and equipment costing
  • Adding in overhead
  • Management reserves
  1. Controlling the Project Budget

In this module the participants will learn the necessary steps to controlling and managing the project budget. Topics will cover:

  • Identifying and managing hours worked
  • Tracking equipment and materials costs
  • Weekly budget reports
  • Work packages and control accounts
  1. Earned Value Management

In this module the participants will learn that for large, complex projects the most accurate way to track progress is through Earned Value Management. The participants will learn:

  • What is EVM?
  • Cost and schedule variances
  • Cost and schedule performance indices
